The hair sample is cut as close to the scalp as possible and the most recent 1.5 inches are tested. The thickness of different types of head hair (thick coarse vs. thinning fine) is the reason for this variation. At that time, the tester just needs to place the device on a flat surface and wait for the test to complete its migration. In approximately 10 minutes you’ll have your results.
